ASSESSMENT DEVELOPER
Schroeder Measurement Technologies, Inc. (SMT), located in Clearwater, Florida, assists certification and licensure agencies in the creation and maintenance of multiple-choice, performance-based, and other types of assessment instruments that measure job-related knowledge and skills. SMT applies state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies, and psychometric models to the various phases of the examination development cycle to best satisfy the unique needs and requirements of each client and candidate base.
The role of the Assessment Developer is to coordinate and complete assessment related activities for various clients. They are also expected to work closely with upper management to make sure that all related tasks are being completed according to best practices and in a timely manner. Assessment Developers will be expected to facilitate assessment development activities with clients and subject matter experts, so public speaking and group facilitation competencies are a must. Excellent written communication skills are necessary as this position calls for the ability to prepare meeting materials as well as reviewing materials created by colleagues.
Examples of Assessment Development Specific Tasks
- Planning, coordinating, and executing all assessment design activities for assigned clients, ensuring accuracy, consistency, integrity, and quality throughout all phases of the process.
- Training and leading subject matter experts (SMEs) through all phases of the assessment design processes ensuring understanding of all activities and overall program goals.
- Writing business correspondence related to test construction and validation.
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications to create presentations, technical reports, and procedural documents including graphs, tables, diagrams, and images.
This position does require travel and occasional weekend work (25%). Bachelor’s degree or prior experience in examination development preferred. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
