What We Do
SMT assists organizations with their licensing and certification programs through all aspects of test development, test administration, and candidate and membership support. We adhere to professional standards and guidelines required in the testing industry. The most important of these standards are promulgated by such key organizations as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the American Psychological Association (APA), the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME), the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation (CLEAR) and the Institute of Credentialing Excellence (ICE), formerly NOCA. This body of standards provides a means for ensuring that the assessment process is a fair measurement of competence and is legally defensible.
Security is paramount
Security throughout all aspects of the test development and administration process is critical to maintaining the validity and integrity of a credentialing or licensing program. A program's significant investment can be lost, sometimes irretrievably, if its intellectual property is not properly protected. Therefore, SMT takes the issue of security very seriously.
SMT has numerous state-of-the-art technological safeguards in place to protect electronic information. In addition, SMT has significant physical security systems and procedures in place to protect its vault operations which houses production and storage of hardcopy client materials.
